The application for the 2022 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship is available and the system will be open for application from March 1, details are as follows:
1. ELIGIBILITY
All applicants shall be:
a) non-Chinese citizens;
b) in good physical and mental condition, with good academic performance and conduct;
c) committed to the Chinese language education and related work;
d) between the ages of 16 and 35 (as of September 1st, 2022). Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45, while undergraduate student applicants shall not be over 25.
2. SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AND QUALIFICATIONS
A. Scholarship for Doctor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (DTCSOL)
Enrollment in September 2022.
The program provides scholarship for a maximum four academic years.

Note: - Applicants shall hold a Master’s degree majoring in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, or education-related majors. - Applicants shall have more than 2 years’ work experience in Chinese language teaching and related fields. - Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an agreement or proof of employment at the institution where they intend to teach after graduation. |
B. Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)
Enrollment in September 2022.
The program provides scholarship for a maximum two academic years.

3.SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE
Tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance (four-week study students are excluded) and comprehensive medical insurance.
4. APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Starting from March 1st, 2022, applicants can apply for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (Confucius Scholarship) by visiting the application website (cis.chinese.cn).
1. Visit the scholarship website and check the recommending organizations and receiving institutions.
2. Submit application materials online and follow the application process, review comments and scholarship evaluation results. (Generally, the evaluation results will be announced 3 months before admission)
3. Confirm with Capital Normal University to go through the procedures for studying in China and print the award certificate online if you are a scholarship recipient.
4. Enroll in university according to the time specified in the acceptance letter of Capital Normal University.
5. APPLICATION DEADLINE (Beijing time)
1.April 15th(For programmes commencing in July).
2.May 15th(For programmes commencing in September).
3.September 15 ( For programmes commencing in December)
4.November 15 (For programmes commencing in March 2023)
The Center for Language Education and Coopertion will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. The results will be published about three months before school starts.

If you have won the "International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions in 2021, please visit the website of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (Confucius Scholarship) and submit the application documents to Capital Normal University with the scholarship certificate.

Appendix
Application Documents for International Teachers Scholarship
A. For all applicants
a) a scanned copy of passport photo page
b) a scanned copy of score reports of the HSK and HSKK tests (within the two-year validity)
c) a reference letter by the head of the recommending institutions
d) the foreigner physical examination form
B. For degree scholarship program applicants
a) a certification of the highest education diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript.
b) applicants of the Scholarship for DTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors or experts with equivalent professional and technical titles in relevant fields and a 3000-word personal statement in Chinese (including knowledge of the intended field of study and research proposal). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.
c) applicants of the Scholarship for MTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors, and a Study Plan in Chinese. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.
C. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment as well as a reference letter by the employer.
D. Applicants under the age of 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China. The guardian needs to go to a local notary office in Beijing, and submit the notarization issued by the notary office to Capital Normal University.
E. Applicants shall also provide additional documents required by Capital Normal University.
