Chinese Government Scholarship

Chinese University Program - Capital Normal University (CNU)

 

Capital Normal University is authorized by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China to be responsible for the acceptance and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship students. We can accept two types of Chinese Government Scholarship students:

1. Bilateral Program and China Scholarship Council (CSC) Special Program
2. Chinese University Program - Capital Normal University (CNU)

 

I   ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
2. Education background and age limit:

1. Master’s degree applicants must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35;
2. Doctoral degree applicants must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

1. Applicants should have a competitive academic record.
2. Applicants should have strong scientific research ability.
3. Applicants must not be in China during the application process.
4. Applicants should not be holders of any other scholarship.
5. Applicants should have a Level 5 HSK Certificate with minimum score of 195.

 

II    SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. The teaching language is Chinese for master’s degree and doctoral degree programs. For more details, please refer to the catalogue of master's and doctoral degree programs on the official website of Graduate School of Capital Normal University (http://grad.cnu.edu.cn).
2. For English taught master and doctoral degree programs, please contact Foreign Student Office at Capital Normal University.

 

III    SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE AND CRITERIA

1. Tuition waiver;
2. Free accommodation on campus (double room);
3. Monthly allowance: 3,000 CNY per person for master’s degree students and 3,500 CNY per person for doctoral degree students;
4. Comprehensive Medical Insurance. 

 

IV   APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINE

1. APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

1. Applicants should log on the website of CSC (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/register) to register and complete online application. Please fill in the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship in Chinese or English. Please choose “B” for “Program Category” and type “10028” as the “Agency No.”.
2. Foreign Student Office of Capital Normal University will contact related colleges and departments to review the application documents, and admit excellent candidates to China Scholarship Council (CSC) for final approval.
3. Capital Normal University will directly send Admission Notice and JW201 Form to scholarship winners.

V   APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

• CNU Application Form for International Students.

(Please stick the photo and ensure that the application form is signed by the applicant and his/her guarantor. Please upload this form as “Other Forms” in CSC online application system.)

• 2 Recommendation Letters from professors or associated professors. Priority will be given to applicants who provide Acceptance Letter from supervisors at CNU.
• Academic Transcript.

1. Applicants for master's degree program need to provide their undergraduate transcript.
2. Applicants for doctoral degree program need to provide their master’s degree transcript.
3. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

• Notarized certificate of highest education in Chinese or English.

1. Applicants for master’s degree program need to provide bachelor’s degree certificate and graduation certificate.
2. Applicants for doctoral degree program need to provide master’s degree certificate and graduation certificate.
3. The certificate of highest education should be notarized and should be written in Chinese or English.

• Language proficiency certificate.

1. Applicants for Chinese-instructed programs must provide HSK certificate.
2. Applicants for English-instructed programs must provide the certificate of TOEFL or IELTS test score.

• Study Plan
• Passport Photo Page.
• Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report.
• 2-inch ID photo
• Application fee of 800 CNY. Please pay the application fee on the website of College of International Education. Application fee will not be returned.

(Note: Please submit all the documents in CSC online application system. Capital Normal University does NOT accept paper materials.)
